Did you know that Edo Japan was founded right here in Calgary? The first-ever location was in Southcentre Mall back in 1979. Flash forward to 2016 and the Japanese food franchise is opening its 26th Calgary location inside the Market Mall food court. That’s pretty amazing – I feel like no matter what food court I visit, I can count on Edo Japan to be there with their yummy Teppan-style eats. It’s always great to see local brands doing well.

Edo has some pretty classic dishes like the Teriyaki Chicken and Sukiyaki Beef, but they’ve really been upping their game to include new affordable and ‘Simply Better’ meals to customers. I’m looking forward to snacking on Edo’s newest menu addition of Edamame beans – flavoured with sea salt or sesame chili and steamed to perfection.
